Professor Saeed Alborzi is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, infertility specialist, and advanced laparoscopic surgeon with extensive experience in endometriosis, IVF, hysteroscopy, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and the treatment of complex congenital reproductive abnormalities.
Professor Saeed Alborzi is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, infertility specialist, and highly experienced surgeon in advanced gynecologic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. He has served as a Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences since 2005 and is particularly recognized for his expertise in endometriosis, infertility, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
He received his medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 1983 and completed his specialist board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same university in 1987. He later completed a one-year fellowship in infertility, IVF and related reproductive techniques, and gynecologic endoscopy at Imperial College London and Hammersmith Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Professor Alborzi is the Head of the Gynecologic Endoscopy Division at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. He has also served as Vice President of the Iranian Society of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and as an ambassador for the World Endometriosis Society in Iran. He was President of the Asian Society of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis from 2020 to 2022 and is currently recognized by the society as a Past President and Board Member.
His principal clinical interests include the diagnosis and surgical management of endometriosis, particularly complex and deeply infiltrating endometriosis, infertility treatment, IVF-related care, operative laparoscopy, operative hysteroscopy, and the treatment of congenital abnormalities of the female reproductive system. He has introduced several innovative laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures in Iran.
Professor Alborzi is credited with pioneering the use of a peritoneal graft for the treatment of cervical aplasia and with performing laparoscopic metroplasty for a didelphic uterus using techniques reported as global firsts. His academic work includes numerous scientific publications and presentations at international conferences, with research focused on endometriosis, infertility, assisted reproductive technology, laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy.
His scientific achievements have been recognized through several awards, including the 11th Razi Research Festival Award in 2005 and awards from the 3rd and 9th Royan International Congresses in 2002 and 2008.
