Professor Ahmad Ali Amirghofran is a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon and Professor at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. He completed his medical and General Surgery education in Shiraz and pursued advanced adult and congenital cardiac-surgery training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Middlesex Hospital, and the Harley Street Clinic in London. His principal areas of practice include complex congenital heart surgery, advanced valve repair and reconstruction, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, coronary bypass surgery, and aortic procedures. He has developed internationally recognised techniques for constructing pulmonary and tricuspid valves from the patient’s own tissue.
